A short one this week. Enjoy.
- The legends are true! It turns out that Atari really did dump thousands of copies of its awful video game, E.T. The Extraterrestrial, in a New Mexico landfill. A documentary crew has just unearthed the stash. (Courtesy of CBC News.)
- Writing for Jezebel’s Kitchenette blog, C.A. Pinkham dumps on the menu of Guy Fieri’s new Las Vegas restaurant, Guy Fieri’s Kitchen and Bar. I have to ask: what the fuck is “donkey sauce”?
- Ah, more hand-wringing about games aren’t as good as other media, this time from Keith Stuart of The Guardian. Apparently, it’s harder for him to identify with video game protagonists than the protagonists of… music? No really, he actually says that. There are some good quotes from industry figures in here, which makes the article worth a read, but the central thesis is utter bullshit.
That’s all for now, folks. Ciao.
