Okay, here’s a promise: I will actually write a legitimate blog post next week isn’t just a What I’ve Been Reading entry. But for now, here are more links to stuff on the Internet.
- Net neutrality, the idea that ISPs should not discriminate between different types of data, is an important issue. Matthew Inman of The Oatmeal explains why. I know that many conservatives are wary of government regulation, but net neutrality actually helps firms that conduct their business online compete fairly. Pro-commerce people should be pro-net neutrality.
- By now, you’ve almost surely seen Adult Swim’s “Too Many Cooks” video. Todd VanDerWerff of Vox explains why it has become a cultural phenomenon. I think he’s reaching a bit with his interpretation of its thematic material, but it’s a good read nonetheless. SMARF!
- Tumblr user Kazerad has a (typically) great essay on the difference between arguments based on misinformation versus those based on nonrepresentation.
See y’all next week, nerds!
